Hello fellow gamers, I’d like to thank the readers in advance for checking out my Demo opinion, rather than “review” because I don’t think my opinion makes things official. It is what it is and nothing more than my opinion so don’t be afraid to disagree completely.
Because afterall, this is just my gaming experience…
…AND….WITHOUT FURTHER ADIEU….
Demo’s by The Don has arrived…
The latest demo I have played is Resident Evil 5, I’d like to start this off by saying that this game is visually stunning and the sheer number of enemies in this demo are massive, even though you see the same 4 zombies rendered countless times with special enemies thrown in at times which are near-impossible to kill with what is going on during the game.
Here’s the problem, you can’t move and aim at the same time….let alone run-and-shoot as was said to be featured in the game. You have countless zombies running at you, and then stopping when they reach you to only start walking slow again. Then you have the guy with the chainsaw and paper bag on his head on one level which I haven’t been able to kill yet and on the other level is a masked man who is like 9ft. tall and swings a giant axe around.
…All the while I’m trying to change my weapon and they are still coming as I hit ‘triangle’ to bring the menu up. This game gives you no break, and as Mel and Gary at Gamingvice.net said “when you’re running, he’s like a sack of potatoes” how can you be so limited in a game that has this many enemies attacking you at once?
Another gripe I have is with the co-op mode because when you play offline with someone, the split screen in a 3rd person perspective is so unnessecary that I am moving onto my next point…Which is the pace of the game in which you are a slow, clunky moving character who is in a fast-paced environment that has awkward controls that take too much time to set up for the kill….especially if you have to run from your enemy.
Overall, I must say that playing this demo has made me not want this game as much as I did a week ago and unless they fix the problems, I will not buy this game. I will sum up the problems I have below..
- You are immobile when aiming or holding a knife. (the inability to run-and-shoot is also applied here as well)
- The offline co-op should have an overview of both characters where they are not allowed to go too far away from eachother would have been a better option rather than the widescreen split that has both players missing some of the screen on one of the sides.
- When you want to change weapons, or use an item you are still being attacked.
- Characters are very slow and it really affects my approach to playing.
- The AI for the zombies (running at you and then stopping when they get near you for no reason)
…Anyways, I’ll finish this off with my closing point…
If you want this game and have not played the demo….PLAY THE DEMO….and if you still like it, then buy it. But if you don’t….then don’t say I didn’t warn you.
