Rumors have been circulating saying that Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion will be inferior on the Xbox 360 as opposed to the Playstation 3 version. I’m here to tell you that rumor is false and 360 owners need not worry about having an inferior game. Below are the listed specifications of the Sega Lindbergh which housed Virtua Fighter 5 R and Namco System 357 which is housing Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion.

As you can see the Namco System 357 has only a better processor and that would only be because it is newer hardware. The graphics card however is more or less the same. The Sega Lindbergh housed Virtua Fighter 5 which is a beautiful looking game and easily comparible to Tekken 6 and Virtua Fighter 5 was ported to the Xbox 360 flawlessly. The Xbox 360 is able to handle Street Fighter 4 just as well as the PS3 can which again is a testament to the fact that at the very least when it comes to fighting games the 360 versions can play just as well as the PS3 versions. I will now link to videos of Tekken 6 and Virtua Fighter 5 which both in my opinion look gorgeous but no more so than each other.
Now that you’ve seen the graphics comparisons as well as the original system specs of both games I’d like to tell you that it is a fighting game people. There’ll be an arcade mode, versus, training, online, and maybe a movie gallery, that’s not that many modes, the game will not be on 2 discs or any of that nonsense. The rumor that Tekken 6 wouldn’t be able to fit onto a single DVD was probably started by a PS3 owner for some sort of hype. The graphics processor for Tekken 6′s original version is the same for a game that was ported to 360 flawlessly the amount of features the game will have could not possibly warrant 2 discs or inferiority on one console or the other, especially since Soul Calibur 4 had way more features than I Tekken would usually have and was also a multi-platform game that looks gorgeous on both consoles. So put you fears at ease 360 fighting fans your copy of a 1 disc Tekken 6 will most definitely be the same as the PS3 owners’

this is NO rumor u fools! have u not heard from Namco? They said that the 360 version WILL be inferior to the PS3. They said they struggled to fit everything on the disc, this resulted in the game being better on the PS3 and HAVING more!! So all u 360 owners tht are going to buy tekken on the 360 beware!! Yr version is gonna run at a lower framerate, yr game is gonna have less, and in general run worse (a little like GTAIV and ALL games now tht are being developed on the PS3 1st!)!!
U fools should have read what namco wrote about Tekken
(above) John has no life……
uh yea the processor is much more advanced because its the cell processor in tekken6. other than that i don’t doubt tekken 6 will come out for the 360….but the developers are bitching about it
This could be the dumbest explanation, even with his comparation the autor just embarrased himself. The GTA4 version was downgraded for fitting in that low end DVD9, and many other games. X360 is the biggest bottleneck in the development of the game industry.
It’s a fighting game!
I remember early on they said MGS4 would need more than one blu-ray, What happened? Oh yeah someone opened the files and found gigs and gigs of useless code to pad the disk and make it look much larger. I’m sorry but when a developper enters the Flame war, I can’t take what they say seriously.
P.S Tekken? Bigger than SF4? hmm wait and see
P.P.S I own both consoles and enjoy games on Both!
I think this blogger forgot to mention that the developer once said, during an interview, that the game featured a variety of new shaders optimized specifically for the PS3. Plus, the console version of Bloodline Rebellion will feature many new videos in hi-def. I think the developer knows what he’s talking about…
Tekken 6 target framerate is solid 60 fps. This will be hard to achieve on the 360 because of all the effects and processing the PS3 is able to do with the combination of CELL + RSX.
Time will tell. I’m a game dev. and I can’t tell how the outcome will be ( but I can have an educated guess )
About this blog, what credentials do you have ? Comparing a P4 with a CELL is like a kindergarten comparing a Mustang and a Ferrari thinking they both are cars of equal value.
Honestly who really gives a flying f**k? Go and get some fresh air you sad t**ts
I’m not sure if you’ve ever played a Tekken game, but Soul Calibur IV most certainly does NOT have more features than the average Tekken game. That game has absolutely nothing other than the character creator. That being said, the developer said it’ll be difficult, not impossible, so the end product should be fine.
Honestly who really gives a flying f**k? Go and get some fresh air you sad t**ts
lmao
^^ In any case, speculation is useless, because fanboy bloggers <<<< developers.
Tekken 6 looks way better than VF 5 in this comparison, what are talking about lol.
@random poster
Yeah, I didn’t even mention the comparison itself, but I agree, the Tekken video is EXTREMELY low quality, and you can still tell that it looks way better than VF5R.
So what?
If it is on two discs, then download the game to the hard drive … that can store tons more than a blue ray disc.
Kurt…
Still, 2 DVD discs cant store as much data as a single Blu-Ray
I have a hard believing that a fighter can’t fit onto a DVD, but Fallout 3 and Oblivion can.
ARE YOU PEOPLE RETARDED.
gary namco have been making tekken for xbox and ps3- will they be trying to sell it? YES
so when you talked about devs saying its original they are trying to sell it, thats perfectly normal.
BUT when they say “OH one of the versions of the game i spent 2 years making is crap” it makes no sense to lie in that occasion.
Dont be sad 360 owners Montreal GameDev knows his stuff thats what the TEKKEN DEV said himself. your in denial listening to random bloggers. just cut your losses and buy a ps3 asap.
oh and the people who bought the fighting sticks, more people use control pads than fighting sticks OK and the 360 controller is rubbish.
its not about the friggin storage jeez
1) I do not know more than the developer, but what I’m saying makes sense, if you want to believe developers so bad why don’t you go listen to the countless vids saying that making a game for the PS3 and porting to 360 is way easier than the other way around, in case you were too busy trying to bash me and be PS3 fanboys, and didn’t see that the Namco System 357 which is the arcade machine that houses Tekken 6 is just a big PS3, why would this be anymore difficult than any other game?
2) I’m not a 360 fanboy, I’m a fighting game fanboy and will be purchasing the game on both consoles, so anyone commenting here you’re welcome to play me no matter what console you have
3) If you don’t want to listen to a “random blogger” over a developer, at least comment constructively and bring your own facts as to why the porting process will be difficult, making for a more interesting disccussion
4)The game is meant to be played on an arcade stick, its a fighting game, you know this, there’s a billion and one arcade stick options for you on both platforms and if you don’t know check amazon.com, arcadeinabox.com, or lizardlick.com
5)This article was made for people misquoting the article and saying that Tekken 6 couldn’t run well on the 360, the developer said it would be difficult
6)Thanks for the hits
I think this is bunch of bull. I have a PS3 and i thnk the system great, Yet I think Tekken 6 can run on the 360. to let all you know that the Tekken developer says it will be hard to port it because remember Tekken 6 on arcades first in japan or somewhere? The arcade use PS3 specs to run the game and now they are porting and expanding the development on both consoles. Its easy for them to put it on the PS3 but for the 360 they have to put more time and work on it to port it from PS3 specs to 360s. If this game was not for the 360 all of you would probably playing this right now on the PS3 and have Bloodline Rebellion as a DLC, but no namco want money like many developers out there and satisfy both party. As for PS3/360 comparisons they both have highs and lows and if you can’t deal with that get a Wii and get lost. As i said though i think it can run on both systems.
“making a game for the PS3 and porting to 360 is way easier than the other way around” that may be true but like when rockstar said that GTA4 was held back by the 360 may be the same for tekken.
you “will be purchasing the game on both consoles” idk for what purpose but if its for no reason then you are retarded.
“The game is meant to be played on an arcade stick” UH NO it is probably designed to be played with the controller that is standard with the console- MORE people will play it with a controller on a home console. the stick is an EXTRA
all fighting games are meant to be played on a stick…period..
you can use a controller…but the arcade stick is the optimal way to go…
you can try to slant whatever angle you want to try and win the argument….but it won’t make you right..
“‘The game is meant to be played on an arcade stick’ UH NO it is probably designed to be played with the controller that is standard with the console- MORE people will play it with a controller on a home console. the stick is an EXTRA”
Sorry buddy. Guess there’s no local arcade scene near your location or you’ve step foot in an arcade. Tekken 6 has been out on arcade cabinets for a while now. But you do make a point that more people will play with a controller on console. A stick is a huge investment during the shitty economic times.
exactly, kevin….I won’t get SFIV yet because I won’t invest in an arcade stick…yet..
Sticks are sold out now anyway as well. Jus saying for anyone looking for a Hori RAP3 or Ex,those are gone till new shipments arrive. Its amazing how I ordered mine in jan and all of a sudden both systems stick are gone. That’s what sf4 did. And Don, if u really want to invest in a stick check out Arcadeinabox.com where you custom make your sticks.
every single street fighter review I have read puts importance into the controller- I can pull of any move you can with my controller than you can with a stick.
I am so used to my controller that a stick would be awkward.
I can guarantee capcoms main profits from street fighter were not from arcades but home consoles.
the ps3 uses the dualshock 3 if you design a game for it you have to make sure it works well with that.
you already know said that the stick is the “optimal” way to go. ther is a optimal way to go with everything- ther is a mouse and keyboard for ps3- shud i be playing killzone 2 with a mouse and keyboard?
How in hell can you conclude what you state?
Due to specs?!?
Are PS3′s specs inferior to the 360′s? Because there’s a lot of multiplatform games that are superior on the Xbox.
Or are the 360′s specs worse than the PS3′s? Because… there’s a lot of multiplatform games that are superior on the PS3.
Get it? Specs are not the problem. The problem is the way games are develloped… or ported from an architecture to the other.
I’m quite sure Namco could produce equal versions on both consoles if they wanted to. But will they invest enough on this (complicated) port?
This is merely one case where the 360 version demands more work, due to Tekken’s original architecture (Namco System, Cell based).
This sure is a slobberknocker
alright inja….
I don’t know one person that would choose a regular controller over a stick for a fighting game…period…
and if you show me on, I’ll show you a liar…
as far as the mouse and keyboard goes, I hate playing computer games because of that and I probably could just plug my DS3 in there via USB and call it a day…
only people who have played computer games more than even a handful of times say that the mouse/keyboard are better than a controller….
mouse/keyboard is not the optimal way to go imo….but everyone I know who purchased SF4 either wants/plans to get a stick or already has one…
your analogy is flawed…
you already know you are completely lost, you messed up when you said- “imo” and “everyone i know” the fact that you are posting here means you are probably a hardcore gamer with hc gamer friends.
your opinion or your friends do not even have any significance. the best way to play a fps is mouse and keyboard- that is what most fps people will say and pros use that- there is no arguing with this- if you do want to continue arguing against the mouse/keyboard than your arguing against yourself on the street fighter issue.
do you seriously expect people to get specialist equipment for every genre of gaming most haven’t got the time or money.
you are flawed I win
well there are still a lot of people who grew up with sf and like their good ol’ pads too yknow. i know alot of late 20′s early 30′s ppl who have been using pad since day 1 and will never change.
you’re not trying to be correct or make sense, you just want to win the argument…these two things are completely different…
the stick is more responsive in regards to fighting games than a controller…and you want to draw a comparison to a mouse and keyboard?…
it’s usually the one who is lost that tries to point out how someone else is lost, you prove this by namecalling and resorting to a lower level of arguing instead of making a point…
have fun reading the articles here though…
keith..
people who use a controller are just not willing to invest in one…
if you give them a stick and ask them which one they would rather play with (stick or controller) 10 out of 10 will say stick…
except for inja maybe, because he’s trying to “win the argument”…
through “pad” into the mix. haha
throw*
i dunno..i do know many prefer a stick but to say 10/10 is a bit much because no poll or stat is ever that accurate. maybe its just the area you are in,but def not everyone would say stick. its also biased if you say the people you know are all fighting game enthusiasts. the other people who play fighters need to be considered as well. some people DO(no italics) actually prefer pads, not just because they are cheap on money. atleast say 8 or 9 out of 10. even lysol is only 99.99% accurate. that statistic on stick is a bit exaggerated i believe.
That’s not what I’m saying Keith…
I’m saying if the controller were free and the stick were free….which one would they choose?….people like me don’t get a stick because they aren’t that serious about fighting games, but I’d take the stick any day over a controller…
as opposed to the mouse/keyboard analogy where I don’t know anyone who feels this way except for people who play computer games like that…
ohh. and with keyboards, i cant see using ASDW for movement at all. that seems wierd and less intuitive. but this comes from someone who never tried it so.
Sticks are preferable, I do like them better even though I perform better on D-Pad, I just need to practice and once I do I’ll be better on the stick, just the button layout alone is better, on pad I have to use the Px3 or Kx3 because its too difficult to hit all 3 for ultras in SF4, and if I was playing an FPS or an RTS I’d prefer the mouse and keyboard, those games were originally meant to be played that way.
I’d like to address the imposter Kevin, because broke gamer Kevin would never say something like that. Yes devs try to make the controller more preferable but they’re meant to be played on arcade stick. Anyone who doesn’t make the investment isn’t serious and wouldn’t/shouldn’t get one to leave more sticks for the serious gamers of the fighting genre.
ok i have been a fan of sony for a long time & have loved playing Tekken.
I will however mention that there is more to a game these days than graphics, there is ONLINE play & i am sorry to all the PS3 fans here but the ONLINE is utter garbage on the PS3.
People complain about having to pay a fee for XBL, well atleast when i play a fighting game like Street Fighter IV, SoulCalibur IV & a hell of alot of other games including TEKKEN 6 i can find a match and have a blast, not like the pathetic free PSN that is a real bitch to find people.
So Tekken 6 for me will be a 360 buy, I am fed up with the PS3.
I never thought i would ever betray Sony but if you want an experiance playing online with just about every game & accually find matches & not get dissconnected, the 360 is where it’s at people.
Also 1 other thing i have found better with the 360, Framerate is way better than the PS3, Resident Evil 5 looked & played sluggish on the PS3.
360 version ran smooth the whole way through.
I only got the PS3 just for ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Final Fantasy XIII & Uncharted 2 when they are released.
The PS3 is a good console, i know i have been bagging it alot, it’s just i find online more important than graphics, what keeps me interested in the game is the fact i am not playing by myself all the time.
