This morning, EA released a new video for the upcoming Godfather 2 game that comes out next month for the Ps3 and 360. After watching the trailer, this game gives off the aroma of something that many gamers will pick up and enjoy for quite a while. Based off of the video, you can rest assured that the game will feature a ton of violence to whet the appetite of any gamer out there who loves to see some blood shed and torture. The fact that you can plant a man’s face into a cooking surface and watch his face turn red from being cooked makes this game worth buying alone. For those of you not familiar with the game, it loosely follows the story of the original movies, but with a twist. Instead of being linear and forcing you to reenact all your favorite scenes from the movie, it places you in the shoes of Michael Corleone who is now the don of the family. From this point, you are able to recruit people into your family and shape your crew however you’d like. Another interesting thing about the game is that you are able to have turf wars with rival families with the ability to take over their territories and earn more money to lace your pockets with. The game looks pretty good for the most part, but with a game like this the emphasis should be on the story and gameplay rather than the visuals. Something that remains to be seen, however, is if EA can manage to capture the feel of the settings in the movie, while keeping the player engaged of what is going on during the game. From what has been released, it sure seems like this game has a lot of promise and should not fail to wow gamers in the process.
