Great podcast. Keep’em coming. I agree with Don on reasons that I won’t buy the Xbox 360. For them to keep telling everyone that they fixed them and all with a new chip and now the E74 error is a huge ass problem for me. Should people keep buying faulty products? I don’t think they should cause it sends a message to big companies that people would buy anything faulty and the company will just keep pushing faulty products. The same thing with games with company’s putting patches on first day buy for most games. I paid $65 for a game that is not ready to be put in the game without a patch. I just gonna hate to see all the problems with the next generation consoles.
Actually I had to rebuy 3 ps2s because they were so unreliable with the disc read error and other problems. Sony only had a 30 day warranty with the ps2. At least microsoft has extended the warranty for 3 YEARS.
yeah, i definitely got burned on my PS2 hardware with the disc read error…
I often wonder if I would feel as good about owning a Sony brand console if I was burned again by the PS2 because I find Sony to be quite reliable as an overall brand…
It’s good to see that they stepped up the hardware this time…
ive gota give the 360 credit though i mean.
i bought a 360 60GB pro yesterday and about after 3 hours playing gears 2 my mum comes in and starts bitching that i bought another stupid games console and more stupid games blah blah blah blah blah.
than she finaly leaves and trips over the internet cable throwing my 360 off the desk falling onto my subwoofer and leaving a massive gouge on the side pannel.
yea the disk is scratched to hell and now wont work.
but besides that its like it never hapend the console still works aint making any more noise than it was before wich was like a freaking space ship launching.
but works perfectly, its going to be hard explaning to ms why that gouge is there if i ever send it in for warranty but i would hate to think what would hapen if that happned to my ps3.
well Nick, you never know what would happen with the PS3 and on top of that…with any machine.
Sometimes it’s all about luck of the draw and you end up being more fortunate than others in this scenario…
the ONLY gripe I have with the 360 is the admitted failure rate included with the console that has “reportedly been fixed”, but I’ve seen nothing to suggest that…
I don’t have a problem with the XBL service or the games on the console…
I have a problem with the console itself, but a lot of people who hear someone bash the 360 get all uptight about it….and start lashing out as they feel personally attacked because someone told them that they purchased a faulty product…

yea i did thats true.
but i love the OS on the 360.
like it turns of INSTANTLY the ps3 takes forever.
the 360 boots up slightly faster.
the downlods OH MY GOD are so much faster.
example.
i downloaded and installed the NXE update and it took me 12 minutes.
to download and install the latest ps3 firmeware 12 hours and 10 minutes.
big difference no?
to download the titan pack for UT3 on my ps3 it was roughly 800MB and it took 1hour and 20 minutes.
dont understand why UT3 was quicker since it was ALOT bigger mayb because alot of people would of been doing the update may be?
but to download duke nukem 3D its roughly the same size and it was done in 18 minutes.
my jaw dropped completly when i saw duke nukem 3D was done i said IMPOSSIABLE.
these things are what sony need to implement into there firmeware updates if they EVER want to catch up to the 360.
and i LOVE gears 2 who ever thought of entering a giant worm to slice its arterys in half to kill it is a freakin genious give him the nobel prize
ahaha wow…the latest firmware upgrade for the PS3 took me less than a half hour..
I have DSL with Verizon….which is not that fast, so I have no idea why your download took so long….
and yeah, both consoles have a great gaming lineup…and if it were not for RROD, I would have a 360 right now…only because of the gaming lineup that the PS3 had back around this time in 2007 when I purchased it..

I really think that’s something on your end, because I always get downloads from both services pretty damn fast. I have noticed that some people get a faster connection on one or the other sometimes. What that all boils down to is where their servers are compared to where you live.
I could turn this into a rant about how we need to get better broadband access in this country, but I won’t.
yea ive got no idea whats going on with my ps3.
sony is saying because of the ports blocking the ps3 so i added the ports that made no difference.
so they then told me to set up the ps3 as a DMZ so all ports would be open so i did that still no difference.
even hard wired is just as slow as wireless wich is weired hard wired should be faster but its not on my ps3.
i dont know may be when i plug my 360 in the router reads it as a pc and opens the required ports but with my ps3 may be i have done something wrong.
its realy weired because ive herd the same thing from alot of people telling me it took them less than an hour to download the KZ2 demo but it took me 6 yes 6 hours.
ive got naked DSL from optus wich is supose to be almost as fast as ADSL2 so its fairly speedy.
another thing sony needs to fix up with there firmeware is with the 360 you can turn off the console but continue downloads and its wisper quiet so it can download while your asleap than turn off once its done.
but with the ps3 you cant you have to wait for it to download wich is realy bugging me since everything is taking forever
Nick, I do not know where you have been but the PS3 do that already, I have went to sleep plenty of times downloading something and it automatically cuts off the system after it finish while I am sleeping.
no i meant with the 360 you can turn off the system and it still has some power so it can still download just like it does to charge your controllers.
but with the ps3 once its off thats it to download something you have to have it on wich is far to loud it will keep me up.
