When I first saw the demonstration for this game taking place with the characters resembling Sackboy, I thought this would be a segment I could walk away from and get something to drink. I then noticed the demonstration jump right into a race and was floored, the game play appeared to be smooth as were the graphics.
So it’s safe to say that the words “lame” and “Mod Nation Racers” just can’t co-exist, unlike the words “MAG” and “Two-Fifty-Six”
While at first, this game looked like it could be a step backward from LittleBigPlanet, it took all of two minutes for me to think it will be step in the right direction. In one aspect, I consider creating levels on LittleBigPlanet rather difficult, or maybe I just suck at it.
From the looks of things, the aspect of creating levels on Mod Nation Racers looks extremely user friendly while also offering a plethora of options for scenery.
I would expect this game to offer compatibility with Motion Controls, but that remains to be seen. Due to the customization of the levels and characters along with the gameplay that is strikingly similar to the Mario Kart series with High Definition graphics, the only thing that’s left is Motion Sensing.
Mod Nation racers would easily be Sony’s answer to Mario Kart and then taking it to another level from what I’ve seen from E3 and appears to be another wonderfully kept secret from Sony and only shows the world that LittleBigPlanet is opening up.
Be sure to keep your Internet browser tuned to Gaming Vice as we plan to release more info from this weeks E3 presentation.

i felt the same before/after to modnation leaving the only glitch to me being that’ll be even better if only we had the choice of one mod”character”or more to play in these play, create, share, type games. the motion controllers look closer to a near future reality/functionality than ms, though the natal is one of the show stealers. the psp go doesnt seem sooo bad as long as its no longer the shadow of the psp2 ( a combination of an ericsson one day, hopefully). while the game lineup IS the best, it would’ve kept word of mouth had the also given assured release dates, e.g. salavating for 5yrs for gt on psp is rough. lastly, i gotta say, PLAYTV, in u.s., with the synergy of the psp, psp go, and ps3 …..is only followed by backwards compatibility for all sku’s as the best combination with the eventual drop in price.
Yeah, I like this Play Create Share stuff.
This game had character and looked simple to get into, gameplay and creation wise.
Cheers, Sackboy!
To me, Sony delivered at E3, the amount of software shown was very well handed out. To think Ill be playing Gt on my Psp come this October, sends chills up and down my spine.
still would be great to have the ability to intergrate my ps home character into my psn id and games. would be the coolest thing til we have motion controlled hologram games.
