In case you missed Sony’s press conference, let me be the first…or hundredth to tell you that they stole the show. They had the usual suspects that all the fanboys love and brag about in God of war III, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Massive Action Game among many that were surprises.
Another known title was Final Fantasy XIII and the footage was amazing as expected, followed by the megaton bomb that dropped when they announced Final Fantasy XIV as a MMO and Playstation 3 exclusive title.
The one question that I asked was “Where is Versus at?”, Sony went nuts with all the Final Fantasy games announced for the Playstation brand starting with the PSOne Classic Final fantasy VII. They also mentioned Dissidia for the PSP and then FFXIII gameplay footage followed by a FFXIV trailer.
The thing that blew me away the most is that all of these games are slated to be released before 2010 is over, which is great, I just want to know where the RPG I want the most is at. Final Fantasy Versus XIII looks to be the darkest RPG to be released this generation and while everything that Sony and Square Enix put together today, fanboys can now shut up.
Just when everyone thought Square Enix abandoned the Playstation brand, they came back and blew up the scene by announcing 4 games and 3 of them being Playstation exclusive. I was shocked when they said Final fantasy VII was appearing on the PSN today, but then Final Fantasy XIV releasing by the end of 2010? Ridiculous.
We’ll just have to wait and see how many times that release date gets pushed back (I kid, I kid….or maybe not?)
